Today, President Obama gave the commencement speech at Booker T. Washington High School in South Memphis. I sat in front of my TV clapping and smiling and just so happy for these students. Most of you who view this video live in a world far from what the students of BTW have endured. Tonight I had trouble explaining to my daughter that many of these students will never get to go to college. She also didn't believe when I told her they lived in homes with an average annual income of 10,000. These students worry about crime, drugs and violence. My daughter worries if I'm going to allow her to have feather extensions. Two different bubbles. My prayer tonight is for these students to beat the odds. If you watch the video you will see that their graduation rate has gone from 55%-82% and the number of students who went to college increased from 4% in 2005 to 70% in 2010.

Here's another late post. I have good intentions on keeping everyone afloat but it's not easy. I hate posting these pics because my little prego belly is sticking out and you can't tell that I'm pregnant so it looks like I'm FAT!! Which is how I feel most days. I am really going to miss playing tennis with my friends this summer and in the fall. Life moves on!! God has another plan for me right??? Last Wednesday I hosted our teams end of the year tennis party at my house. They are a great group of ladies. We didn't have a great winning season but we had fun and I believe that is why so many of us play. It's a time to spend with friends.
