Sunny California

Here are some pictures from our trip to California last week. We were there for an Acura 20 group meeting and took the girls with us even though they were not on spring break. Lucky DUCKS! The 70 plus degree weather was a nice change. Reality has set in now that we are back home. Back to packing up the house. Or should I say cleaning out the clutter. A painter has been here since Wednesday and a real estate agent is coming this weekend. We hope to have the house on the market soon.

Restaurant Guide

Last night, I took the girls into town to shop while Dan stayed back at the hotel to get some ZZZZZZ... anyway.. while shopping we found this bookstore called Dolly's. It's named after a cat that once lived in the bookstore. Dolly is long gone but two cats still roam the store. While there, I found this little book that allows you to keep a record of all the restaurants you've visited. We travel quite a bit and I'm always writing down my favorites. I keep a journal of our travels and I will sometimes write a restaurant down if it's a memorable one. I'm so thrilled to have found this little book. First in the book will be Grappa. Grappa's is Italian and located on Main St in Park City. The food wasn't my favorite. Out of 10, I'm giving it a 6. The food wasn't that good and they were expensive. The second place is Chimayo's. It's a Southwestern restaurant also located on Main. Out of 10, I'm giving it an 9. The Crown Ribs were wonderful and the meat fell off the bone. I would definitely return.
I can't wait to start recording all the great and not so great places we eat. Happy Eating!!!

Spring Break

We are in Park City, Utah this week for Spring Break. It's our first time here and I must say I like it!!! We are staying at the St. Regis that just opened in November 2009. The girls are doing great at skiing. They have no fear. Dan takes them threw the woods. I wish I had learned to ski when I was younger. I know the risk involved in skiing. I'm pretty sure they do not quite understand the full extent of possibly getting hurt. A life time of pain. I don't even want to go there. I said my prayers before skiing each day and God answered them. Yeah!! Tomorrow we are going home.

GOLDEN TICKET

Rachel is sleeping and doesn't even know the good news. I'm not sure it's fair that I tell you. OK OK..I can't hold it in any longer. Rachel will play CHARLIE in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She will be so excited tomorrow morning. I'm so happy for her!! YEAH!!!!

Oompa Loompa

Yesterday I took Rachel to audition for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Last night she received a call back for a 2nd audition. She's so excited. They taught them a dance yesterday to the Oompa Loompa song. They also had to recite a line. She had Veruka Salts part. She said "I"m VERUKA SALT and I want a GOLDEN TICKET!!!!" Practice will be almost 4 days a week. YIKES MOMMY!!! Anyway.. I guess I'll find a way!!! Wish her LUCK!!!
